When I see a piece of furniture that's been well-used or neglected, I will literally pull the car over on any strangers' curb to rescue it! I see past what it is right now, get a peek into the soul of it's potential, and imagine how useful it could be, given some love, the right set of skills, and a bit of time....

I usually start with stripping and repair. This gives me a better picture of the furniture's strengths and weaknesses. Can a part actually be repaired, or does it need replacement? When all the layers of use and age are gone, what shows thru? Vivid, beautiful woods or stock bits that will shine with a new coat of paint? Once the vision has been established, and the job is well under way, beauty must be balanced by function. Keeping durability in mind, my finish-work always includes a clear, high-traffic poly and either clear or dark wax, for depth, texture and shine!

Each piece is as individual as the person who will use it! Each transformation is different, each one building my excitement! Something that would go unnoticed in it's previous state, suddenly stands out and seems to speak up, "I'm worth it! Love me! Use me! I will serve you well!"
